About Gov Progress
Gov Progress is an independent public-interest data platform designed to make UK government commitments, public spending, national conditions and available support easier to understand. It presents objective and attributable evidence in a useful format so people can make informed decisions without being told what political conclusion to reach.
What Gov Progress does
We organise source-linked public evidence, show comparable changes and distinguish official data, tracker calculations, tracker assessments and unavailable evidence.
Independence and political impartiality
Gov Progress is not affiliated with or endorsed by the UK Government or a political party. It does not ask users to adopt a political conclusion; claims remain attributable to their sources and assumptions.
How sources are selected
Primary official statistics and public records are preferred. Independent and parliamentary scrutiny adds context. Every figure should retain its source, period, classification and important limitations.
Tracker assessments and official classifications
Official classifications describe official data. Tracker assessments are Gov Progress interpretations of defined evidence rules and are labelled separately; they are not government classifications.
Data freshness and automation
Some official sources are automatically checked. Others are automatically checked but require manual review, or are manually reviewed. Commitments are currently manually reviewed and are not implied to be covered by the official-source updater.
Limitations and corrections
Coverage is incomplete, official releases can be revised, and correlations do not establish causation. Read limitations and report a correction.
Privacy
Account, optional newsletter and device-local features are separate choices. Read the privacy notice for retention and control details.
Funding and ownership
Funding, memberships, payments and advertising are disabled unless transparently configured. Core public evidence remains free. See funding policies.
Public participation and focused surveys
Gov Progress aims eventually to provide a structured and transparent channel through which users can identify priorities, respond to focused surveys and contribute evidence. Results will always display sample size, methodology, collection period and representativeness limitations.
Voluntary website responses are not representative of the UK public.
Contact and correction reporting
Use the corrections route for a source-linked report. The site does not invent a public contact channel when one is not configured.
